Dr. Rebecca Kammer received her undergraduate degree in Optical Engineering from the University of La Verne and then her doctor of optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1999. She is the Chief of the Mary Ann Keverline Walls Low Vision Rehabilitation Center and the instructor of both the Geometric Optics and Low Vision Rehabilitation courses at the College of Optometry. Dr. Kammer is a diplomate of the Low Vision Section of the American Academy of Optometry and has lectured at optometric and low vision conferences throughout the United States. Among her many awards, she received COA’s Excellence in Optometric Education Award in 2008 as well as the Walt Chase Faculty Teaching Award in 2004-05.

Dr. Kammer is the co-founder of the Shared Visions Art Exhibit, an annual art exhibit which features works of art from blind and legally blind artists from around the world, which is presently in its’ fifth year of existence. Her humanitarian efforts include annual trips which have taken her to Kenya, Honduras and Mexico for medical missions to underserved rural communities, where she has examined and treated approximately hundreds of patients per visit.
