Barry Kolom received his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his Doctor of Optometry, cum laude, from the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO). Following graduation, he worked and taught for two years in a post-doctorate program in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Hadassah Hospital-Medical School in Jerusalem, Israel. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and has taught as an Assistant Professor in clinical optometry and contact lens care, at SCCO for over 26 years. He is on staff at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and holds membership in the American Optometric and California Optometric Associations, as well as the Optometric Consultants in Contact Lenses Dr. Kolom has been called as an expert legal witness in medical malpractice cases. His expertise includes Ophthalmic Cataract, Glaucoma and Laser Surgery co-management, specialty contact lens fittings and has participated in clinical research programs for the FDA and the private sector.

Dr. Kolom is associated with Drs. Robert Gordon and Andrea Silvers of the Encino Optometric Center.
