Dr. Mark Sawamura is a 1991 graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry. Following graduation, he completed a residency in Primary Care at the Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. In 1993, Dr. Sawamura joined the faculty at the Southern California College of Optometry. He currently serves as the assistant chief in the Primary Care Service, and a staff faculty in the Chronic Care and Special Testing Services. He is also a consultant to the California State University, Fullerton Student Health Center. Dr. Sawamura coordinates the first and second professional year clinical program, teaches clinical procedures laboratories, and teaches subjects ranging from ocular and neuro-ophthalmic disease, application of ophthalmic lasers, and diagnostic procedures. He has lectured on a variety of ocular disease topics on the local and national level. His interests include neuro-ophthalmic disorders, glaucoma, vascular disease and technology in eye care.
