Martha E. Mijares offers more than 20 years of accomplishment-laden experience in the optical industry, driving achievement of the highest priority sales growth, business development, market share, business expansion and operations efficiency goals. She brings valuable insight and knowledge regarding the leadership and management challenges faced in the growing optical industry.
As Director of Optical Services for the Southern California College of Optometry, she came to the school in 2006. She's responsible for maximizing profitability, ensuring the highest patient satisfaction, providing guidance and training to opticians and optometric interns in the proper procedures for frame selection, dispensing, inventory controls and cost of goods. She has developed strong business relationships with the lens and frame vendors for positive and progressive partnerships.
Prior to joining SCCO, she served as a manager for companies such as Kaiser Permanente, Lenscrafters, Pearle Vision Express and Cole Vision. She currently belongs to the Opticians Association of America and works as a core member with the Essilor Vision Foundation.
