Allison Takeda serves as the Assistant Director of Admissions at the Southern California College of Optometry. She is responsible for directing student recruitment activities and coordinating programs for pre-Physician Assistant students as well as assisting the Director of Admissions in activities which include implementation of the admissions policies, promoting and maintaining community with pre-health students and directing the student recruitment program.
She was born and raised in Orange County but spent a few years in Chicago while her father completed a degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. Allison graduated from California State University, Fullerton with her Bachelor of Arts, Single-Subject Teaching Credential, and Master of Arts in English. After teaching high school English and coaching softball, she decided to switch career paths and transition into business which led her to earn her final graduate degree from Chapman University's Master of Business Administration program. At Chapman, Allison developed a keen interest in digital media marketing and a desire to combine that focus with her passion for secondary education.
Allison is an avid sports fan and willing to travel anywhere in the country to see a game. Spring Training in Arizona, Blackhawks vs. Red Wings at United Center, and the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City are just a few of the locations she has collected ticket stubs from. Recreationally, she enjoys time in the yoga studio and running in the park with her beloved pup, Ellsbury.
