Dr. Judy Tong received her B.S. degree in Genetics at UC Berkeley and her O.D. degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. She then completed a one year residency in Primary Care Optometry at the Eye Institute of Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Tong joined the faculty at SCCO back in 1993. She is heavily involved in the clinical medicine and health procedures courses. She was appointed as the Assistant Dean of Residency Programs in 2012 and is in charge of the educational components of 19 residency programs with over 30 post-graduate residents. Dr. Tong is the current Chair for the Disease Section of the Academy. Dr. Tong served as the Principal Investigator on a phase III antibiotic drug trial and was a Co-Investigator on another. Dr. Tong’s interest lies in ocular and systemic allergies and systemic diseases in general.
