Dr. Michael Rouse

Long-time SCCO Professor Michael W. Rouse, O.D., M.S.Ed., lost his struggle with multiple myeloma on, Saturday, April 18. He was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his passing. As an optometrist he found his passion in the area of vision therapy and became a highly recognized educator, researcher and mentor to hundreds of colleagues. Dr. Rouse, the College's first Pediatric and Vision Therapy Resident, joined the faculty in 1978 immediately following the one-year postdoctorate program.

His wife, Janet, and their daughter, Kayla, have requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made in his name toward a vision therapy fund at SCCO. Contributions may be made out to SCCO, with Michael Rouse Memorial Fund in the memo line.
