
Members of the Southern California College of Optometry's (SCCO's), Class of 2015 will be honored at the traditional White Coat Ceremony on Sunday, September 18. The ceremony signals the official welcome of the new First-Year Class into SCCO's doctoral degree program and the profession of optometry.
Each First-Year Optometric Intern will receive his or her white coat before a gathering of family, friends and College administration, faculty and staff, during the 4 p.m., ceremony, to be held on the College's Fullerton campus. The first White Coat Ceremony at SCCO was held in 1998. The white coat symbolizes professionalism, responsibility, history and pride. To close the ceremony the Members of the Class of 2015 will take the Optometric Student Oath.
The 2011 sponsor of SCCO's White Coat Ceremony is the Hoya Free-Form Company. Its Director of Professional Affairs Greg Hicks, O.D, will represent the company at the annual event that will be held on the SCCO Campus, 2575 Yorba Linda Blvd., Fullerton, CA. Parking will be provided in the parking structure located on Associated Road just north of Yorba Linda Blvd.
