SCCO Teams with Community Groups

Fifty-five vision screenings were provided to homeless patients thanks to the volunteers of several community groups on Saturday, January 29.  SCCO Doctors and Optometric Interns, and volunteers from the Illumination Foundation, Lestonnac Free Clinic, and the Orange County Health Care Agency partnered to provide the vision screenings at the Fullerton Armory Homeless Shelter.

Overall, 38 free new prescription glasses and17 nonprescription reading glasses were dispensed.  Twenty-one patients diagnosed with vision-threatening pathologies will receive follow-up care at SCCO's Eye Care Center in Fullerton and by local volunteer ophthalmologists.
