SCCO welcomed 20 members of the UC Berkeley Foresight Pre-Optometry Club to its Fullerton campus on Friday, January 14. The pre-optometry students met with several campus officials to learn more about SCCO's Doctor of Optometry degree program and experience first-hand the College's community feel.

The students heard about the College from President Kevin Alexander, O.D., Ph.D.; learned about the Eye Care Center from VP and Dean of Clinical Affairs Julie Schornack, O.D., M.Ed.; were informed about the California Optometric Association (COA) and optometric advocacy by Assistant Dean for Clinical Education Harue Marsden, O.D., M.S., current COA President; and had outlined for them what SCCO looks for in a competitive applicant by Associate Professor Sunny Sanders, O.D.

The group had lunch with the Class of 2014 Student Ambassadors and then met with, Volunteer Computer Specialist Wayne Heidle, who told them about Low Vision and Vision Rehabilitation at the College's Eye Care Center. The visit was topped-off with a full campus tour and presentation by SCCO's Director of Admissions Jane Ann Munroe, O.D.
