Optometry’s Big Catch in Monterey

SCCO Faculty Caught in Action

Fullerton, CA, November 13, 2012

The California Optometric Association's (COA's) Monterey Symposium was packed to the gills with SCCO faculty and alumni.  The Glaucoma Certification Track and countless other sessions saw the SCCO power team of George Comer, O.D., M.B.A.; David Sendrowski O.D.; Mark Sawamura, O.D., '91; Judy Tong, O.D., '91; Susan Cotter, O.D., M.S.; and Julie Schornack, O.D., M.Ed., teach more than 40% of the CE hours provided.

Alumnus and faculty member John Tassinari, O.D., '87, also traveled to Monterey for the November 8–11 event with his entire paraoptometric team for the special Paraoptometric/Staff CE.

Dr. Tassinari served as Chair of the COA Education and Clinical Practice Committee that develops the Symposium's educational program.

Alumni came from all over the country to attend the Monterey Symposium including Jackie McCall, O.D., '86, from Baxter, Minnesota.

SCCO had an exhibit booth that was supported by the VP of Advancement and Marketing Paul Stover, M.Ed., and Director of Development and Alumni Relations Frances Rozner, M.A.  Alumni had a chance to reconnect at the Exhibit Booth and at the SCCO Alumni Reception on Friday evening where guests enjoyed an espresso bar and desserts.
