An Unspeakable Tragedy

Posted:  Fullerton, CA, December 14, 2012

"Today an unspeakable tragedy occurred when a lone gunman walked into a classroom at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, and opened fire on a classroom of small children.  When he stopped, 26 people had been killed, including 20 children, ages 5-10," said SCCO President Kevin L. Alexander, O.D., Ph.D.

"President Obama, in addressing the nation, has ordered flags at all Federal buildings to fly at half-staff until sunset, December 18, 2012.  SCCO joins the President in mourning the loss of these small, innocent children.  We deplore the senseless violence that has resulted in broken families and lives cut short," noted Dr. Alexander.

"As SCCO President," he continued, "I am ordering our flag be flown at half-staff until December 18, 2012, out of respect to the small children lost and the families who must struggle to live on after such an incomprehensible tragedy. Please join with me in keeping these families in your thoughts and prayers."
