Over 100 Alumni Reconnect at AAO

Fullerton, CA, October 26, 2012

The American Academy of Optometry (AAO) Conference held in Phoenix welcomed hundreds of faculty, students and alumni. Under sunny skies, the AAO Conference took over downtown Phoenix. Friday night, the Cassidy Room at the Hyatt Regency was packed with SCCO alumni and friends at the official SCCO hosted reception. Over 100 alumni attended the event with President Alexander and SCCO’s First Lady Carol Alexander. Alumni came from all over the country for the Academy. Irv Tsumoto, ’72, from Nagoya,Japan, Shalu Pal, ’04, from Toronto, Harald Olafsson, ‘77 and wife Renae from Salt Lake City, and Saysha Blazier, ‘11 of New York City, were among the alumni at the reception who had come a distance.

SCCO Vice Presidents John Nishimoto, Julie Schornack and Paul Stover and SCCO Trustees Glenda Secor and Joseph Mallinger were also there. The room was full of SCCO faculty and 20 members of the Class of 2012 attended their first SCCO reception as O.D.s.  It was a lively, energized crowd.
