6-16 patients a day

2. Describe other activities that you are available to participate in besides direct patient care. (i.e. Grand rounds, internal lectures, interaction with other health professionals, staffing of student interns)

3. Briefly describe the setting of the clinic (hospital, co-management. . .etc).

Hospital and blind rehab long term stay facility

4. What are some strengths of the program and what areas do you feel could be enhanced.

Good low vision experience; moderate variety of ocular disease; good for improving primary eye care skills.

Above average variety of experiences; most variety is concentrated in "chief resident" position that lasts for 4 out of the 12 months; if variety could be spread out for full twelve months would be better overall

5. Briefly describe the geographic location/area of your residency program (what should one expect).

Hot desert; town of 800,000 and mostly outdoor activities.

6. Has your residency thus far been what you expected?

Yes, my clinical skills have improved along with my overall confidence.

Overall good exposure to ocular disease but no the variety that i was anticipating.

7. What were your reasons for applying for a residency and have they been addressed?

Improvement of skills and clinical confidence; also for future opportunities. They have mostly been addressed.

Additional comments:

Good balance in low vision and primary eye care. You do get a fair share of ocular disease with the age of the patients that you see.
